Sentech Recruits Maintenance Officers [2 Vacancies]

Sentech Western Region Infrastructure Services-Cape Town invites applications from qualifying and interested candidates who will assist with activities not limited to assisting with maintenance of Sentech’s infrastructure, maintaining construction equipment and antenna installations and replacements.

 

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12/ Experience in general infrastructure maintenance (Buildings, roads etc.)
• Minimum of two years working experienceA valid code 8 (EB) or code EC1 driver’s license and the ability to drive.
• Assessment of driving ability to be carried out during the interview.
• Willing and prepared to work away from home on regular basis up to 4 weeks unremittingly
• Willing and able to climb and work on tall masts up to 300m high on a daily basis
• Willing and able to travel and/or drive long distances and work long hours when required
• Willing and able to work over holidays and weekends as and when required.
• Be able to carry out routine mast inspections & maintenance according to Sentech mast maintenance policy.
• Must be self-motivated and should be able to take initiative and responsibility for his own career development and staff developmentBe able to adhere and apply safety rules according to OHS Act.
• Good physical health and not suffer the fear of heights
• Willing to take medical examination as an inherent requirement of this position. 

 

Job Specification:

Maintain infrastructure Buildings – Masts, Buildings, Roads, and Yards etc.
Antenna installation and replacements/loading and moving of equipmentMaintain Rigging equipment according to OH&S Act & control inventorySupervise controlled casual labour
Assist the Rigging Team Leader in correctly reporting the exact status of the infrastructure
Assist the Rigging Team Leader purchasing materials and consumables
Assist the Rigging Team Leader in documenting findings of inspection and providing feedback to relevant managers.
Assist the Rigging Team Leader in scheduling mast maintenance for Sentech SOC Ltd.

Functional/Technical competencies required:

Knowledge and understanding of the procurement process followed within Sentech.

Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation, regulations and company policies and procedures.
