Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is looking for Social Media as well as Media & Communications Interns.

The Social Media Intern at MSF Southern Africa will be instrumental in helping the organisation raise awareness and engagement using MSF SA’s social channels. The intern will also be expected to contribute towards MSF’s objective of becoming increasingly digital.The role will play a direct part in the growth of social engagement; maximising current social channels and identifying new areas of growth. The role will also play a part in the development and deployment of innovative social media strategies and initiatives. The Social Media Intern reports to the Senior Online Coordinator and is part of the Digital Team

The Media & Communications Intern will do humanitarian work to assist the Media Liaison Officer and Press Officer in the Communications Unit with various media-related administrative tasks, including archiving media footage, researching and updating media contacts, recording media requests, media monitoring, compiling MSF media mentions, updating the MSF information boards with media content as well as assisting with information sharing within the office.

MSF is an independent international medical humanitarian organisation that delivers aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-madedisasters, or to people that are excluded from access to health care. The organisation’s Head Office is based in Johannesburg and its medical unit is based in Cape Town.

Requirements – Media & Communications Intern
• Minimum matric qualification, preferably university student or graduate.
• Preferably studying media/communications-related subject, or with demonstrableinterest in working in the media/communications field.

Requirements – Social Media Intern
• Studies in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or similar field.
Good working knowledge of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, related Apps & other social networking tools & platforms
