REQUIREMENTS : Matric Certificate or National Certificate (Vocational), A Bachelor’s Degree in
Social Work; Registration with the South African Council for Social Service
Professions as Social Worker; plus a minimum of 7 years appropriate experience
in social work after registration as Social Worker with SACSSP. Valid driver’s
license Knowledge: Working knowledge of the Public Service; Knowledge of
policy analysis and development; Public Service Regulations; Labour Relations
Act, Child Justice Act, Criminal Procedure Act, Probation Services Act as
amended, Sexual Offenses Act, Prevention and Treatment of Drug Dependency
Act, National Drug Master Plan, Children’s Act and relevant Regulations; Public
Service Act; Interpretation of Statute; Administrative Law; Research
Methodology; Financial Regulations and Public Finance Management
Act(PFMA); Organization behavior analysis; Strategic business management.
Skills: Project Management; Planning and organizing; Networking;
Communication (written and verbal); Professional counseling; Policy Analysis
and Development; Financial Management; Presentation; Monitoring and
Evaluation; People Management; and Ability to compile complex reports.

 

DUTIES : Assist in the establishment of Reception, Assessment and Referral Centres.
Monitor and evaluate Assessment and Referral Centres. Ensure funding of nongovernmental
organizations rendering services in terms of social crime
prevention. Monitor services rendered by non-governmental organizations.
Evaluate services provided by non-governmental organizations. Assist in the
establishment of Local Drug Action Committee. Assist in the preparation of
service level agreement files. Funding of non –profit organization. Monitoring of
non-governmental organization providing services in terms of substance abuse.
Evaluate services rendered by organizations providing substance abuse
programme. Assist in the establishment of Local Victim Empowerment Forums.
Funding of non-profit organization rendering services in the field of victim
empowerment. Monitor services rendered by nonprofit organization providing
services in Victim Empowerment Programme.
