SANCA – the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, is a nonprofit organisation working in the substance abuse sector. The organisation is an out-patient rehabilitation centre for people suffering from alcohol and rug related problems. The organisation provides medical services such as: Detoxification programmes, alcohol and drug tests, HIV testing and counselling, CD4 Count testing.

Job Title: Social Worker
Job Location: Paarl, Western Cape
Start Date: 02 January 2019.
Duration: Full time position, 40 hours per week.

The purpose of the Social Worker is to render prevention, early intervention and aftercare services, to substance users and their families suffering with addiction.

Requirements:

  • BA Degree in Social Work
  • Registration with the SACSSP
  • Valid drivers’ licence essential
  • Fluency in Afrikaans and English is essential
  • Experience in the field of substance abuse an advantage
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Social Worker
