Head: Commercial and Financial Crime Intelligence: Division: Crime Intelligence (At the level of Brigadier) (Post No 14/06/2553) Level of remuneration: Band A (SMS) = An all inclusive flexible remuneration package of R833 874.00 per annum is applicable to the post

APPOINTMENT REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must: · Have a Degree or Diploma (minimum of NQF level 6) in Financial Management/Law or other relevant fields of study. · An applicable post graduate qualification in the above relevant fields, as well as relevant training and development may be an added advantage; · Have a minimum of three years experience on middle management level, in the field of the post; · Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English;

· Have a valid motor vehicle drivers licence; and

· Be subjected to a security clearance of Top Secret.

 

COMPETENCIES: The incumbent must have knowledge of systems, processes, procedures, policies and legislations relevant to the field of the post, such as the Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS), Public Service Act, National Strategic Intelligence Act, Police Service Act, Prevention of Organised Crime Act, Prevention of Corruption Act, South African Police Service Act as well as the Public Finance Management Act. The incumbent must have a good understanding of the broader intelligence environment and prescripts relevant to the core functions of the post, an understanding of the functioning of the SAPS, be a hard worker, be prepared to work long hours and travel extensively.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: *Collect and provide commercial and financial crime intelligence in order to contribute to the stabilisation of prioritised crime threats, by providing crime intelligence to the client for the purpose of detection, deterrence and prosecution, *Collect and provide commercial and financial crime intelligence in order to contribute to the stabilisation and normalisation of such specific crimes,

*Collect and provide commercial and financial crime intelligence in order to contribute to the normalisation of prioritised crime threats, by providing crime intelligence to clients, for the purpose of crime management and addressing of crime, *Collect and provide commercial and financial crime intelligence for identified clients in order to promote community safety, prosperity and eventual normalisation,

*Manage an effective and efficient line function and administration support service, *Formulate, implement and maintain national policies (including standards, procedures and guidelines) with regard to commercial and financial crime intelligence (including recruiting, vetting and training of personnel, communication channels, the rendering of service, inspections, evaluation and monitoring of the effectiveness of service as well as other matters which require national uniformity) and ensure compliance thereof, *Establish and maintain a management information database concerning resources, skills, training and other work related information, *Ensure adequate capacity and resources for the rendering of an effective and efficient commercial and financial crime intelligence service, *Ensure adequate skills levels pertaining to all personnel allocated within the defined area of responsibility, *Ensure that the Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS) is adhered to within the environment, *Manage and utilise all resources allocated to the immediate post environment in accordance with relevant directives and legislation.
