SouthSouthNorth (SSN) supports national and regional responses to climate change through policy and knowledge interventions, partnerships and deep collaboration. They do this by connecting people and information, enhancing capability and mobilising resources to respond innovatively to the challenges and opportunities that climate change presents.

Being positioned in the Global South affords SSN a deeper understanding of, and connection to, the climate and development challenges facing the region. Forming part of the Small Grants Facility (SGF) Project Management Team, representing the Executing Entity together with the operations project manager, the primary role of this job is to take responsibility for operations, administration and finance activities and to provide technical oversight and support in the SGF project.

Job Title: Junior Operations Officer
Location: South Africa

The purpose of this position will be to support the technical and strategic implementation of SSN’s operations and organisational workflow. The role also includes operationalising workflow systems, and the last-mile implementation and subsequent maintenance of the organisation’s financial architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Project Operations:
• Budget design, construction and implementation oversight
• Bid submission management
• Project resourcing
• Programme-level financial management
• Reporting on financial and operational deliverables
• Organisational, Operations and Workflow Management:
• The design, building, maintenance and analysis of systems and processes that collate and track project and organisational information with the goal of creating efficiencies and improving decision-making within every level at SSN.

Required:

• Relevant Degree: BBusSci and preferrably 3years or more relevant work experience.
