SPAR Vacancies: Advertising Controller

The Spar Group are searching for an experienced Advertising Controller with excellent communication, time management and creative solutions skills. Ensure promotional products & campaigns are briefed through Integrator in order to promote Spar to all customers and assist with all relevant advertising functions and sponsorships.

As an experienced Advertising Controller you are expected to be hands-on, establish excellent working relationships with all business units and suppliers in order to meet brand needs and develop/ implement cost-effective and creative communications on all Spar promotional and sponsorship events and keep motivated whilst working on several projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
The suitable candidate will be familiar with the elements that contribute to the production of quality advertising including the advertising, sponsorship, PR and sales promotions for the Spar Group. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is considered crucial.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:
Ability

• maintain and grow excellent relationships with retailers
• collate information from all departments for Quarterly Advertising preambles & ensure that they are sent for printing timeously
• ordering and ensuring that leaflets and P.O.S critical paths are maintained
• communicate on all promotion and advertising issues
• articulate clearly and concisely in both the written and spoken form
• analyse and resolve retailer queries

Experience

• co-ordinating sample photography sessions
• problem solving
• ordering point of sale stock, sponsorship products and materials
• communicating on all levels
• planning and preparing sponsorship events

Knowledge

• planning and preparing events (sponsorships, sale promotions, etc.)
• computer systems/applications
• integrated marketing material (advertising, sponsorship, PR and sales promotions)
