Standard bank South Africa: Internal Audit Trainee

Applications for the 2010 Standard Bank’s Internal Audit Trainee Programme are open. Please ensure that you send us all the necessary documents as requested below, as incomplete applications will not be considered.

Requirements

• To apply you need a three-year qualification (B.Com or National Diploma) with Internal Auditing as a major (third year subjects)
• You will need South African citizenship or a work permit for South Africa
• Two to three years experience in the banking environment is preferred
• Special skills we look for in a candidate are:
  • Good numerical ability
  • An eye for detail
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Ability to multi-task and work in teams
  • An analytical approach
  • Good communication skills, both in written and verbal.
  • The ability to work in a pressurised environment and complete tasks (and your part-time studies)
  • Decisiveness and the ability to recommend solutions
  • Good time management
  • MS office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Diverse exposure
Training in diverse areas across Standard Bank’s Group Risk and Internal Audit will be in line with the requirements of the IIA. Most of the rotations will be in Johannesburg and may towards the end of the programme, include the chance to gain international experience through rotations our international, i.e. other African countries and possibly London. Placement
Trainees will participate in a training programme for a period of three years and will be required to complete a two-year work back period. Trainees will be placed in a position suited to their skills, experience and qualifications at the end of the training period.
