The successful candidate will assume full responsibility for the overall functioning and profitability of the Garden Centre Shop & Indoor plants section, by procuring high quality products which are effectively displayed, and providing customers with professional service.

Specification
•Assists with the development of an Annual Sales and Expense Budgets relating to the Shop and Indoor plant sections and monitors the approved budgets on a monthly basis.
•Manage overall procurement and sales activities to ensure budgeted growth and gross profit margins are met.
•Monitors and controls purchases, quality, pricing, labelling, promotions and displays of all Shop and Indoor plants and products.
•Ensures that stock levels are maintained at acceptable levels at all times in line with seasonal requirements
•Assists with the planning and implementation of a roster for annual leave, overtime and weekend duties of staff
•Ensures that staff maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
•Ensures that customers are attended to promptly and professionally, are assisted in a helpful and friendly manner, and that they have access to any advice or information they may require at all times
•Procures stock in line with sales history and latest industry trends for Rosebank Shop and Indoor plant sections.
•Assumes full responsibility for the Rosebank Garden Centre as Duty Manager over Weekends or Public Holidays when required to do so by the Garden Centre General Manager.
•Stands in at Rosebank for the Garden Centre General Manager in his absence when requested to do so

Requirements
•Matric (A tertiary qualification in Retail Business Management ideal)
•At least 5 years’ experience in a Retail Management role.
•Excellent Computer skills (Excel)
