You as the Business Unit Supply Chain Manager for DMMG (Discrete Automation and Motion – Motors and Generators) for DM ZA you will report operationally to the Local Business Manager for ZA and functionally to the Country Supply Chain Management. You will be responsible for defining and implementing most effective SCM structures and processes in your region. Additionally your task will be to assess, select and promote SCM talents in the region as well as to approve, together with the global Commodity Team Leaders, the regional sourcing strategies per commodity. Beside your regional role you will be accountable in your country for the implementation of LBU specific initiatives required to fulfill the yearly SCM KPI‘s as well as having required SCM resources and capabilities
A) For your region:
-Approve together with the global commodity team leader the regional sourcing strategies per commodity group. Leveraging the work of regional commodity teams by maximizing the spending with preferred regional / global best cost supplier.
– Ensure regional visibility of all tenders and projects in order to raise ABB’s purchasing power by bundling commodities.
-Establish excellent and transparent communication internally, externally, and between different divisions and BU’s. Standardizing processes and implementing routines / best practice.
-Table of Authority for Supply Contracts as per Group Directives in your region.
-Review and approving of local cost-out programs and/or processes to reach region financial targets
-Integrate SCM in the local division tender and execution processes and providing SCM the supplier ownership.
-Develop and implement regional SCM standards, tools and processes in line with global guidelines in your region
-Ensure regional governance with ABB standards on health and safety, environmental regulations, government regulations and business ethics
-Drive the regional implementation of SCM competency development program (e.g. assessing and selecting regional SCM talents, elaborating succession plans for lead SCM positions, arranging and deploying training programs)
B) For your Local Division:
-Implement regional SCM structures and global processes in your Local Division.
-Ensure that SCM is integrated into the value chains of the LBUs
-Drive commodity team works for regionally agreed commodities
-Accountable for implementation of local LBU specific initiatives required to fulfill the yearly KPI‘s as well as having required SCM resources and capabilities
