Job Title: Group Communications Consultant

Job Summary:
Assist in the development and implementation of the brands communication
strategy, working with stakeholders to identify key information that should be
shared internally and externally.

Internal Communications:
Establish an internal communications strategy and meaningfully measure its
performance incl. environmental branding, culture as well as the induction
Use social media to communicate with staff internally.
Ensure internal communication messages are consistent across all mediums
and for different departments of the organisation
Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect
organisational perception and reputation.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Contribute to stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding
out their needs/issues/concern and reacting to these by arranging meetings and
events and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and
Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to
employees and stakeholders through written, verbal or experiential executions.
Advise senior executives of developments throughout the organisation, either
face to face or through regular written communication.
Manage the communication plan and execution to various business partners
such operational stakeholders, dealers, brokers, BDO’s and other partners.
Support alignment to customer communication by liaising with the customer
engagement team as well as overall group communication specialists.

Document Preparation:
Plan, edit, write and create content for a variety of communication mediums,
such as the digital workplace.
Prepare presentations at organisational events, such as quarterly awards or
monthly manco packs.
Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees
in written or spoken form.

External Communications:
Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of external communications
with guidance from senior colleagues.
Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external
communication messages.

Brand Strategy and Effectiveness:
Assist and align management of brand(s) by implementing communication plans
and guidelines and measuring effectiveness.
Drive uptake and usage of staff insurance policies and benefits.

Insights and Reporting:
Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports and the
interpretation thereof.

Personal Capability Building:
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development
planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or
maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve
performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant
technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing
education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Operational Compliance:
Develop working knowledge of the organization’s policies and procedures and of
regulatory codes and codes of conduct relevant to own work, adhering to
mandatory procedures to ensure own work is undertaken to the required

Grade 12/ SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential); A relevant Communications
degree (Advantageous)

3 to 5 years communication specialist experience (Essential); Relevant
Marketing experience (Essential)
