The Carel du Toit Trust Tygerberg is the fundraising arm of the Carel du Toit Centre, where hearing impaired children learn to speak. The Trust was established in 1988 and our vision is to be a reputable fundraiser impacting the lives of children with hearing impairments in Africa to reach their full potential and thrive, through enabling access to the Carel du Toit methodology of natural spoken language with audiological support.
Job Title: Fundraiser for Individual Donors
The purpose of the position is the development and execution of a comprehensive individual donor programme to increase the organisations individual donations and support. The role will manage all aspects of the donation process, including the strategy for donor/prospect acquisition through broad-based appeals that generate significant revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve annual individual fundraising target (incentivised)
- Responsible for the acquisition of new individual donors and retention of current donors
- Development, management and evaluation of Face-to-Face, Telemarketing, Direct Mail and Digital fundraising campaigns
- Continuously identify, execute and evaluate new campaign concepts and report on existing campaigns
- Plan and implement an Alumni and Brand Ambassador’s programme
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all donor interactions, overseeing database management
- Assist with the fundraising/marketing events
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree, in a related field, and two to four years of fundraising and/or ‘hard’ sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
- Communication skills with an outgoing personality
- Customer-service orientated
- Motivated and energetic, ability to show initiative and work independently
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to handle diverse, simultaneous tasks, meet deadlines and attend to follow-through
- Demonstrated competence and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with CRM databases
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and have a car
