The Centre for Positive Care (CPC) is a nonprofit organisation working in three provinces namely Limpopo, Gauteng and North West, with a vision that all sex workers receive high quality treatment, care and support to improving their quality of life and productivity, and supporting the National Strategic Plan of South Africa in reducing HIV, STI and TB and to ensure greater participation and involvement of targeted beneficiaries in community systems strengthening and reproductive health and rights services.

Responsibilities:
- Apply to procedural nursing sequences in diagnosing, treating, monitoring and evaluating communicable and infectious diseases
- Consult and provide preventative, curative and rehabilitative treatment/health care to sex workers con various clinical specialities (Communicable, non-communicable including Adult Curative care) in order to ensure that needs are identified, and that personalised nursing care is made available so as to enable early detection, control and recovery from illnesses and diseases and/or prevention/notification of occupational health hazards
- Disseminate advice and information on health issues and associated treatment applications in order to ensure effective Primary Health Care for sex workers
- Perform quality assurance tasks, reporting and administration tasks as required
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing (NQF Level 5)
- Dispensing license preferable, or a willingness to study towards this
- NIMART preferable, or a willingness to study towards this
- Experience with NimART, ART Clubs, Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH), previous experience in sex workers – desirable
- Knowledge of HIV, TB and STI, prevention approaches and DoH screening guidelines
- An understanding of the challenges facing sex workers in the health context and an ability to communicate and work well with sex workers in the provision of health services
- An in-depth understanding and knowledge of legislative requirements, acceptable practices and procedures
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Report-writing skills
- Planning and organisational skills
- Communication skills
- Interpersonal skills, including being a team player
- Demonstrate strong professional attitude and behaviour at all times
- Ability to work non-traditional hours which may include weekends from time to time
- Ability to travel as and when required
- A minimum of two years’ community nursing experience
