The Community Organisation Resource Centre (CORC) is a nonprofit organisation working in informal settlements supporting communities to improve their built environment. Through social facilitation and technical support, CORC assists linking up informal settlements and civil society to the local government.

Job Title: Admin Support
Job Location: Cape Town

The purpose of the position is to support the Manager of the CPF and to provide administrative support to the ISSP. Support the finance team in collating and documenting all the expenses related to the ISSP.

Key areas of support for the CPF

  • Handle all filing, both soft and hard filing
  • Set up advisory committee meetings
  • Set up sub-committee meetings
  • Follow up on all correspondence regarding CPF approvals
  • File all documentation related to the approved projects
  • Set up meetings with communities where required
  • Regular communication with sub-regional coordinators
  • Set up meetings with partners as it relates to CPF processes

Key areas of support for the ISSP

  • Set up all meetings related to the ISSP
  • Manage all meeting requests. Daily check emails for meetings and inform the relevant team, check availability and confirm attendance
  • Collate all documentation, minutes of meetings, attendance registers, relevant reports
  • Collate all receipts and related evidence of costs incurred
  • Coordinate with finance team regarding provision and transport costs (Khashifa you can add or give the words to this part)

Key areas of support for the Vusi Project

  • Handle all filing, both soft and hard filing
  • Set up internal and external project steering committee meetings
  • Provide logistics support for the Vusi workshops
  • Support in copying and binding of bulk documents
  • Collate all receipts and related evidence of costs incurred

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license preferable, not essential
  • Computer literacy Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Data Capturing)
  • Experience in data using Excel
  • Ability to operate data collection and analytical software (added advantage)
  • Knowledge of database cleaning and ability to work with large datasets
  • Knowledge of Human Settlement policy (preferable but not essential)
  • Report writing skills
  • Ability to give attention to detail
  • organising and coordination qualities with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Negotiating skills
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and resourceful
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to operate successfully under tight deadlines and time pressures
  • Build and maintain and retain relationships
