The DG Murray Trust on behalf of the Lesedi Solar Park Trust (LSPT) is seeking to appoint a Community Project Coordinator who will be based anywhere within the 50km radius from where the Lesedi Solar PV Project is located, Groenwater.

Job Title: Community Project Coordinator
Job Location: Postmasburg or Danielskuil or within 50km radius from Groenwater, Northern Cape

This job requires extensive travel within the Free State to various Trust-supported projects and beyond in support of project development and implementation. The position reports directly to the Partnerships Lead at the DG Murray Trust.

The role of a Community Project Coordinator is multi-fold and in summary includes:

• Being the face of the Trust by representing the Trust on various platforms;
• Community mobiliser and motivator behind a common vision;
• Go-getter and able to seize opportunities that advance our strategy, and
• Providing project management oversight to all our programmes on the ground.

High-level summary of key responsibilities:

• With Partnerships Lead, jointly develop a framework, approach and mechanism for coordinating and managing the work of the Trust,
• Build and manage relationships with a range of community stakeholders, particularly Implementing Partners, local municipality and various community structures,
• Build relationships with potential funders of new projects e.g. other IPPs and Community Trusts,
• Plan, coordinate and facilitate monthly check-in meetings with and amongst Implementing Partners and Community Trustees to increase impact through combined efforts,
• Work with existing Implementing Partners to strengthen their implementation plans, or to identify new opportunities,
• Co-create communications products that draw on the implementation experience of partners and research/evidence, and that highlight key learnings and insights from the field, and
• Engage monthly with local media e.g. community radio stations and local newspapers.

To qualify you will need:

• Driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• A relevant degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing small to large-scale community development projects.
• Full range of project and financial management skills including planning, monitoring implementation, budgeting and reporting – able to put in place systems for this.
• Demonstrated written, presentation, communication and organisational skills in English.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse team and manage multi-stakeholder relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Some experience in working with donors/CSI partners would be useful.
• Proficiency in either Setswana, isiXhosa and/or Afrikaans is desirable.
• Must live in and around the community in which the Trust works (Postmasburg or Danielskuil or surrounding areas) or be willing to re-locate.

This is a 1 year contract subject to renewal based on performance and available funds, and the position is based in Postmasburg or Danielskuil or within 50km radius from Groenwater, Northern Cape.
Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience. The position will require frequent local travel.
