The Friends of Valkenberg Trust is an NPO working in conjunction with hospital staff at Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital to promote the recovery of people with serious mental illnesses.

Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Cape Town
Employment type: Part-time (16 morning hours/week)
Start date: 1 November 2019.

Responsibilities:

•  Reporting to the Director, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment and management of the 60 weekly volunteers who run recovery focussed groups with service users.
• Together with the team, the Coordinator is responsible for ensuring impact as well as monitoring and evaluation.

 Requirements:

• The applicant should be a well organised, people-oriented team player with strong communication, project management and IT skills.
• The applicant should be able to relate to a diverse group of stakeholders, and have an interest in /understanding of mental illness.
