Job Title: Sigma International – Maintenance Worker | Facilities
Location: cape town, South Africa
The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, painting, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Preferably a male (will be doing a lot of heavy lifting)
Perfect attendance record
Flexible shifts (7am-4pm & 8am-5pm)
Must NOT have any kind of disability
Must have sober habits
Must have a technical background
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Must be semi-skilled in maintenance work
Experience in working with hand & power tools
Computer literate (able to operate with sending emails)
Personality (have a good sense of humour)
Great people management skills
Able to repair various equipment
Must be technically inclined
Great attention to detail
A ‘can do’ attitude
Willing to go the extra mile with due diligence
DUTIES AN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform basic tasks including painting, filling crevices and managing maintenance repairs across all Sigma properties.
Perform repairs on company equipment
Locker – Maintain, arranging lockers, performing lock cuts and locker repairs
Minor plumbing and drainage
Minor painting and floor coverings
Associated minor maintenance
Light bulb replacement at reasonable heights
Refilling and monitoring of all water dispensers
Respond to client’s maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Repair plumbing, electrical and safety systems
Maintain organization and cleanliness of all storage and filing areas
Complete and update a weekly report sheet on all work completed
Inform and report to line manager of completion of requests
Arranging with appropriate supplier/contractor around repairs required
Conduct weekly H&S & security checks and ensure building is compliant
Assist in Covid screening as required
