Job Title: IT Operations Manager
Location: Gauteng
Job Summary:
The IT Operations Manager’s responsibilities include monitoring network infrastructure and resolving system issues. It is the coalface of all IT operations across the busines. This individual needs to have experience with IT performance management, network administration and system security.
Reporting Structure
This role will report directly into the IT Manager.
6 IT Site Engineers, 6 IT Interns, IT Service Desk Administrator and a PO Intern will report into this role.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Key Performance Areas:
Clean internal and external audit.
SLA’s from support desks.
Escalations.
Coaching and team culture barometer (Site Engineers and Interns).
Staff CSI and WIFI MyVoice incidents.
Responsibilities:
Team lead, coordinate team and onsite IT resources.
Escalation management, prioritization and conflict resolution.
Manage support hepdesk rules, load balancing of tasks by delegation and accessibility of system.
Set priorities for site engineers and track progress of tasks, duties and activities.
Maintain, optimize local company networks and servers.
Be responsible for device and password management and AD and tier 1 platforms.
Oversee data backup and system security operations (e.g. user authorization, firewalls).
Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software.
Access system performance and recommend improvements.
Resolve issues experienced by technicians and site engineers.
Ensure data is handled, transferred or processed according to legal and company guidelines.
Provide support and guidance to stakeholders via help desk.
Control operational costs againg Group IT Manager budgets.
Manage contracts with vendors (e.g. development platforms, telecommunication companies, password managers) and sofware licenses.
Implement IT policies and practices.
Mentor site engineers.
Network monitoring and management of QOS, redundancy, utilization monitoring and abuse.
WIFI managment (accessibility, trends, utilization, abuse, security risks).
Security and Cyber controls and SIEM.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Qualifications:
Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Science in Computer Science would be very advantageous.
Relevant Experience:
3 – 5+ years relevant IT experience in industry.
CCNP, A+, CDP, CISSP, CISA, GDPR / POPIA, PMP / PMBOK.
Experience with ITSM tools, Frameworks, Windows PC and Server Systems Operations, Microsoft Office Suite, Cisco Networking, Linus Server Operations & VMware.

Proven experience as an IT Operations Manager.
Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis.
Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing.
Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR).

Ability to manage multiple projects.
Outstanding communications skills.
Strong admin and customer / service skills.
Strong product knowledge.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment.
