uMgungundlovu District Municipality Vacancies

The uMgungundlovu District Municipality, which is an affirmative action employer, seeks to appoint a highly motivated, hard-working incumbents to the following challenging positions:

SALARY LEVEL: T5 R6, 673.08 (EXCLUSIVE OF BENEFITS)

REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12 plus Diploma in Accounting or equivalent qualification .
Computer Literacy is essential.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Finance environment as a Cashier or in the banking environment.
Local Government exposure will be an advantage.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act No. 56 of 2003 .
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Packages .
Competent in the use of Excel spreadsheets .
Thorough knowledge of cashier functions .
Good verbal and written communication skills .
Ability to produce accurate report in a timeous manner .
Good interpersonal relations.

Reporting directly to the Customer Care Coordinator the incumbent will be responsible for the following, inter alia:
Perform cashiering duties.
Issuing of manual and electronic receipts to the customers .
Reconciliation of day to day income .
Balance daily takings and complete internal control documentation .
Safe keeping of cash .
Implementation of internal controls and policy with regard to cash management.
Log incidents on the Incident Management System and ensure that they are followed through.
