Assistant Brand Manager

JOB TITLE:  Assistant Brand Manager                         
JOB LOCATION: La Lucia, Kwa Zulu Natal             
This role is only open to candidates who are eligible to work in South Africa.
The Unilever marketing department is at the heart of our business. Our Brand development and brand building teams work together to ensure our message and the strategic intent of our products are aligned. Split across our three categories of Home Care, Personal Care and Food products there is always an opportunity to put your mark on one of our world renowned brands.
To support the Brand Development Manager in the delivery of innovation and renovation projects to the agreed milestones/timelines and to the high quality standards set.
Develop an in-depth understanding and become an expert in regional markets – the business environment in which the brands compete, including category segments and channels.
Responsible for building a holistic understanding of our consumers and shoppers.
– Manages small innovation projects or clearly defined sections of a bigger project coached/supervised by brand development manager.
– Assists in the development of consumer insights and the development of global innovation (including packaging) and communication programmes working closely with the CMI team, agencies and other functional teams ie. supply chain, finance to ensure excellent delivery and implementation.
– Accountable for the analysis of brand performance and brand health by constantly evaluating performance of regional support activities and in-store implementation against measurable objectives in key countries. This includes the monitoring of progress against key trial and awareness measures and initiating measuring the effectiveness and ROI of key activities.
-Identifies solutions and make recommendations to improve effectiveness based on performance monitoring.
-Assists in the translation of Brand Vision Plan into the BMP by ensuring the Brand Builders have everything they need in order to deliver an aligned BMP.
Marketing Degree/Diploma
At least 18 months experience in a marketing/brand role
Project Management
Proven track record of developing brand plans that build equity and business
Experience within creating/deploying integrated communications
