MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The Global Mobility team is responsible for designing and managing the delivery of all aspects of Unilever’s International Assignment programme as part of the Global HR Services organization.  The team is responsible for the management of 1,300 Long Term International Assignees, 300 Short Term Assignees, Permanent Transfers, Commuters and Domestic Transfers across over 80 countries.  The team is accountable for all aspects of the assignee relationship, vendor management, global processes, technology and operational service delivery in these areas.

Each Global Mobility Analyst in the Hub is responsible for a portfolio of International Assignees who are moving on either a host based approach, permanent transfer, short term assignment or a frequent business traveller.  Global Mobility Analysts will be responsible for day to day operational service delivery delivered to their portfolio of international assignees as well as interaction with regional Global Mobility hubs and HR.

Global Mobility is a specialist area due to the cross border nature of the work and in addition to best in class service delivery skills, Global Mobility Analysts require a good understanding of employment law, personal tax, social security, payroll compliance and vendor management.

The service centre that GM runs is aimed at delivering a smooth and efficient service to a high volume of host based international assignees.  To deliver outstanding service to these assignees, Global Mobility Analysts must be adept at managing numerous stakeholders, multi-tasking and maintaining a tight control of day to day service operations.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Responsible for end to end service delivery for a high volume of host based international assignees, short term assignees, permanent transfers and short term business visitors within their designated market, providing a smooth and efficient service focussed on landing people into their new roles as quickly as possible. The Senior GMA’s will primarily support host based assignees.

Proactively working with vendors and HR to ensure that the delivery of the service runs smoothly and efficiently.

Excellent understanding of personal tax issues, equity award treatment, immigration, social security and payroll compliance for cross border moves.

SME for designated GM service, e.g. tax or social security or immigration etc.

Advising assignees on GM policies, application of policies, cross border compliance issues and relocation matters.

Responsible for recommending pragmatic and efficient decisions around policy application – balancing both business needs and global governance.

Responsible for overall client and user satisfaction for the population of individuals within their market, ensuring that the GM service delivery meets key metrics.

Responsible for compliance within their market, especially around assignment approval governance.

Second level approval for all packages, letters of assignment and cost estimates etc.

Responsible for ensuring that all services provided to assignees within their market is efficient and transparent and working closely with regional teams to provide status updates and issue resolution.

Own relationship with Euronet hubs, providing population overviews and input into stakeholder relationships.

Project lead for annual data review, including host entitlements, IMA etc and ensuring total market population is correct.

Direct interaction with numerous international assignees of senior WL’s and managing their desire for policy exceptions within the global exception management framework. First escalation point for any exception requests.

Preparing Compensation Statements, Net pay comparisons and assignee documentation.

Responsible for initiating vendor services and pro-actively following up on status of moves and services provided by 3rd party providers.

Preparing Payroll instructions for assignee moves.

Preparing Cost Estimates for all new assignment ensuring correct allocation of costs to tax/financial years, categories of income and timing of accruals.

Pro-actively identifying operational issues and suggesting process fixes.

Designated coach for new joiners and over-all responsibility for on-boarding.

Point of contact for any market or global projects.

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

 

Experience in liaising and communicating with multiple stakeholders across regions

Experience of working with 3rd party tax and relocation providers

2-3 years Global Mobility experience

Experience in PeopleSoft HR and working with HR data is highly desirable
