MAIN PURPOSE
The National Account Manager will secure new business from their allocated customer list, derived from the strategic set of customers with the national footprint. The National Account Manager will need to successfully manage their current base whilst selling additional products and services into these customers. The National Account Manager will be required to minimise churn and maximise revenues with revenue growth being a key performance indicator. The objective is to increase the business nationally from a target list of customers. The National Account Manager will also retain and record any and all customer and market intelligence to increase future win opportunity regardless if tenders are successful or unsuccessful

 

JOB OBJECTIVES
The National Account Manager is responsible for the entire “Customer Lifecycle Management” process, from “rumour to cash” Lead planning and development of in-country customer sales strategies to develop VGE / International / National accounts in very close cooperation with the GAM / RAM / Line Manager where applicable
Influence Vodacom / Vodafone Account Sponsors, Vodacom Board and Group decision makers to secure appropriate resource and delivery as required.
Introduce new innovations and concepts to key decision makers within the customer. Understand through engagement at the right business, level the customer’s strategic and operational issues

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Matric with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in Strategic Account Management dealing with National and Multi-National customer accounts.
A 3 year commercial (BCom/Business Science, IT) Degree or Equivalent qualification will be an advantage.
OR
A 3 year commercial (BCom/Business Science, IT) Degree or Equivalent qualification with 5 years’ experience in Strategic Account Management dealing with National and Multi-National customer accounts.
Experience in solution sales and relationship management with a track record of global or enterprise solution selling within multi-national companies – essential.
A broad understanding of the ICT Landscape and Strategic ICT enablers.
A thorough understanding of converged and networking technologies and services.
Proven successful account acquisition and development in a multi-national environment- desirable Demonstrated success in networking at senior levels amongst industry leaders with strong relationship management skills.
Demonstrated understanding of important financial concepts, the IT&T environments, purchasing practices and industry specific aspects of corporate customers
