Develop and formulate the direction and strategy of the ‘Converged Communications’ products and services portfolio for the Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) International markets in Africa.
Develop, execute and manage the ‘Converged Communications’ product portfolio roadmap for VoIP, IP Telephony, Video Collaboration, Fixed Mobile Convergence and Hosted IP PBX products from cradle to grave
Manage and evolve the existing Converged Communications product portfolio (including VoIP, IP Telephony, Video Collaboration, Fixed Mobile Convergence and Hosted IP PBX) products and services.
Align the various International market’s product roadmaps with the overall Vodafone and Vodacom Enterprise Business Unit’s strategy
Develop and manage the portfolio’s targets, budgets and resources in line with the overall Vodacom Enterprise Business Unit’s strategy.
Manage a team of product managers and product specialists across the International markets.
Provide monthly executive, management and system reports on the Converged Communications product portfolio and services, targets, activity and performance.
Provide input and support into the greater departments and business direction and strategy.
Develop and establish the required channels to market required for the Converged Communications portfolio
Provide support to the sales force and business partners in terms of product awareness, training and positioning.
To manage the ‘Converged Communications’ portfolio of products and services through all phases of the product development life cycle including ideation, concept definition, product development, commercialization, management till retirement.
Follow defined commercial product methodology in taking products to market.
Analyse products through the various stages in the product life cycle.
Conduct required market research if and when required to accurately capture addressable gaps in the market based on customer / business needs and views.
Define new products to be developed that will meet specific identified customer needs.
Work with various parts of the business to develop and launch new products or services.
Understand the target market and ensure the marketing effort is directed towards identified segments in the most effective manner, including providing strategic product direction based on Converged Communications market trends, customer needs and market opportunities
Work with Marketing to develop merchandising, promotions and advertising campaigns for products.
Champion and stimulate support of the products among the sales force.
Assist with the development of business processes and integration into OSS / BSS systems.
Gather intelligence on the product performance, customer and distribution channel attitudes.
Initiate product improvements to meet changing market needs.
Ensure inter-department product communication takes place and regular updates on new and existing products.
Managing of product contracts and agreements both internal and external to Vodacom (includes vendors and business partners)
Assist in managing all aspects of the Converged Communications partnerships and upstream suppliers.
Prepare product presentations and information / training material on the product.
Compile monthly management reports analysing the commercial and operational performance of the products.
Qualifications & Experience
Completed a relevant technical or business Degree/Diploma
Minimum: 8-10 years in the ICT Industry (essential), with Video, VoIP or GSM Voice product portfolio development and product life cycle management experience, in a Telco, ISP, or related ICT services industry.
Minimum 5 years product management and product life cycle management experience
Minimum: 3 years relevant combined Video Collaboration, VoIP or GSM Voice product marketing experience.
Completed Matric / Grade 12
Minimum: 10-12 years in the ICT Industry (essential), with Video, VoIP or GSM Voice product portfolio development and product life cycle management experience, in a Telco, ISP, or related ICT services industry.
Minimum of 6 years relevant product marketing experience
Minimum of 3 years relevant combined Video, VoIP or GSM Voice product marketing experience
Minimum of 1-3 years relevant regulatory involvement / understanding experience
