Job Description and Responsibilities
Take responsibility for in line test facilities and analyse data related to testing. Control the batch release of engines through the hot test process to customer by means of analyzed data from production test facilities.
Take responsibility for the running, maintenance and TPM of test facilities in conjunction with production supervision and management.
Establish contacts in VW group cold test operations for continuous benchmarking and improvement.
Control the failure catalogues provided and establish a plan to improve and increase data recorded.
Recruit and train suitable personnel to operate the cold test facility on a shift basis. Train and develop a stand-in cold test engineer
Compile various reports of a business and analytical nature detailing recommendations and improvements in order to keep supervision and management apprised of progress of cold test activities.
Carry out various administrative functions in order to facilitate and execute projects within the Company’s administrative requirements and standards.
Maintain knowledge of and keep abreast of cold test technologies within the VW group.
Ensure production and quality targets are met and improved in line with VW group targets.
Maintain quality standard of product through data analysis and parameter optimization.
Education and Experience
Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical
At least 5 years in an engineering or automotive field
Knowledge of combustion engines would be advantageous
Skills, Attributes & Other requirements
Leadership Skills
Good Communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong PC Literacy, including an understanding of various PLC programmes
Knowledge and experience in pneumatics, hydraulics and electronic control and interface systems, would be advantageous
German language ability would be advantageous
