Job Description

•Establish and Determine facility requirements for the manufacturing processes for Component manufacture.
•Liaise with Internal and External Customers including the Volkswagen Group regarding Engineering and Quality specifications and requirements.
•Conduct costing enquiry’s to Establish Costs for the purchase / manufacture of facilities
•Prepare clear and complete technical data to establish processes.
•Approve Tool / Facility Design with regards to Function, Work Flow and Specifications for Manufacture
•Establish all processes and introduction in Production Areas
•Co-ordinate machinery and equipment Buy-off and Acceptance
•Maintain and operate change control for documentation auditing
•Ensure Production and Process Stability
•Improve general condition and utilisation of facilities within allocated budget
•Responsible for the disposals of obsolete facilities, equipment and the outsourcing of facilities
•Co-ordinate and assist in the Training of Users in their Business Processes and SAP Functionality
•Represent and co-ordinate the Business interests by ensuring that SAP functionality for all business activities best fit the Business requirements and resolve all SAP related Business Process issues.

Education and Experience

•National Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering
•Qualified Toolmaker/Jigs & Fixture/Patternmaker/Machinist
•5 Years’ experience as an artisan in Tool room (including Tool Design and Lay-out of Tools, Heavy Press Tools Manufacture, Machining, Works Preparation, Try-out section) VERY ESSENTIAL

Skills, Attributes & Other requirements

•Sound communication skills at all levels is a pre-requisite
•Computer literacy (VW Mainframe (SAP), Windows, MS Office)
•Thorough knowledge of material specification
•Proven analytical and innovative approach to problem-solving
