Job Description

Manage and execute the creation, maintenance and evolution of all websites required by the Group, including outside partners on online projects.
Middle management role: supervisory and operational. Manage the online team.

Job Responsibilities:
Contribute to the broader digital strategic direction of the business and lead the strategic planning process for the online team
Monitor and implement technology trends
Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors related to online work. Project manage the work they are involved in and ensure prioritization
Provide creative solutions
Monitor the performance of the existing sites and perform the necessary maintenance on these sites.

Input and upload content and graphics to company and related sites
Lead the developments of new features, and the progression of the sites
Liaise with programming and marketing departments to source content (on competitions, functions, events and features)
Create and manage the creative output of online competitions, events, features
Ensure that a high standard of graphic techniques is applied to websites
Ensure that a high standard of written English is applied to all content
Ensure the sites are constantly monitored, updated, revised and edited
Ensure all comments received by the Webmaster email addresses are responded to
Monitor and compile weekly website stats and monthly reports on siteactivity
Research other websites and keep up to date with industry trends to explore ways of developing company sites
Liaise with the similar position in Cape Town, particularly to avoid duplicated work and to use resources most efficiently

Job Requirements
Matric. Design degree or diploma
Three years Online/Digital Design experience plus one to two years Management experience (of an online team) essential (Must include creative design, writing and editing online material, internet development, understanding website layout and creation) (Web development an advantage)
Project Management Experience. Project Management diploma an advantage.

Formal and informal training to support the Technical Skills listed below.

Working Knowledge of the following Skills:
Photoshop Advanced. Adobe Suite
Dreamweaver Advanced
Excellent knowledge of Style sheets and Divs
Knowledge of Online Marketing
Understanding of Search Engine Marketing : SEO: Search Engine Optimization
Understanding of online, mobile and digital trends.
Understanding of Social Networking
Understanding of Video and Audio/Podcasting
Understanding of these technical concepts is advantageous: ASP, .Net, and basic HTML, Javascript, DHTML
Excellent eye for creative (colour, etc) and layout

Able and willing to work overtime if and when required.
Stable track record.
