WesBank: Ongoing Risk Management Specialist

The Ongoing Risk Management Specialist is responsible for credit risk mitigation in the company’s high exposure, high risk portfolios. This entails identifying and managing high-risk clients and industries in distress, and designing optimal risk management solutions to ensure that recoveries are maximised and losses are minimised. Where possible, the incumbent will focus on enabling business continuity through rehabilitation efforts, whilst minimising risk to the organisation. The ORM Specialist must be financially astute, have excellent relationship management and negotiation skills, and will be required to
travel extensively.

At least two years in an ongoing-risk management role in collections, recoveries or judgmental credit environment.

Bachelors degree in finance or law, or equivalent qualification

– Contributes to cost efficiencies

– Builds and optimises relationships with critical business partners to ensure best scenario ongoing risk outcomes

– Ensures customer excellence through interaction with internal and external customers throughout all business activities

– Assists with value adding projects

– Effectively coordinates the ongoing risk management process to achieve deadlines and outcomes

– Ensures continuous process improvement to enable effective operational processes

– Implements best practice Ongoing Risk Management solutions for the company’s high risk, high exposure accounts

– Participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own development

– Promotes teamwork amongst peers and team members
