Job Title: Training Officers
Job Location: Durban
Salary: To be discussed
Report to: The Business Unit Leader

This is a one year fixed term contract

The purpose of the position is to coordinate, implement and support skills development training for the Work Skills Unit nationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and assess Work Skills learning programmes
  • Develop accredited learning materials
  • Coordinate logistics for training and workshops
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Unit business plan and strategy

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years’ tertiary qualification preferably in conservation, tourism or environmental science
  • Assess or qualification preferably with CATHSSETA (e.g. US17174 and US59389)
  • Minimum of three years’ experience with a focus on capacity building and skills training
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Proven experience in materials development
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact confidently with external stakeholders
  • Research and Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to speak English and at least one other African language (written and spoken)
  • Be prepared to travel extensively due to the training and mentoring aspect of the role
  • Valid driver’s license (a driving competency assessment will be required)
