REQUIREMENTS : A National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (T/N/S) stream or a N3 and a passed Trade Certificate Knowledge of Air conditioning, refrigeration and boilers is necessary. Ability to read, interpret drawings, layouts and specifications A valid driver’s license

 

DUTIES : Render general mechanical maintenance on Government Building Travel to sites for quality control inspections Coordinate planned and unplanned buildings maintenance projects.

Coordinate the condition survey of buildings

Ensure the enforcement of Municipal/Governmental by laws and legislation and prosecution of offenders

Access needs to the population

Carry out inspections on a continuous basis to ensure that work is performed according to the set standards

Direct supervisors’ attention to hazards Test electrical ventilation and lightning systems

Perform engineering technical duties of a complex nature Trace defects in equipment Inform on serviceable and/or unserviceable equipment

Utilization of sophisticated instruments Inspect new/existing works* interpretation/making available plans, specifications, etc.

Routine engineering technical duties Perform basic duties of survey related functions
