{"id":11809,"date":"2013-05-22T12:41:02","date_gmt":"2013-05-22T10:41:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=11809"},"modified":"2016-11-10T13:29:23","modified_gmt":"2016-11-10T11:29:23","slug":"air-traffic-and-navigation-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/air-traffic-and-navigation-services.html","title":{"rendered":"(ATNS) Air Traffic and Navigation Services Bursary Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Aeronautical Information Management Officer Bursary opportunities<\/h2>\n<p>ATNS is proud to invite dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to apply to be part of the Aeronautical Information Management Officer (AIMO) bursar programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Minimum age of 18<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Grade 12 with Maths and English (HG D or SG C or level 4 upwards)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>South African Citizen<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Medically fit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Aeronautical information Management is the skeletal and vascular system of the Air Traffic Management body. There exist opportunities to grow and develop skills in the following careers within Aeronautical Information Management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>ATS flight-planning<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Communications<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>NOTAM<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Static and dynamic data management<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Publication of Integrated Aeronautical Information Packages<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Aeronautical flight procedural design and charting<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Aeronautical Surveying<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This bursar programme facilitates the initial training and exposure necessary to take the first steps along an interesting and ever evolving journey in the field of Aeronautical Information Management as an Aeronautical Information Management Officer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bursary overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The training bursary provides each bursar with an opportunity to conduct their studies at the Aviation Training Academy (ATA) in Bonaero Park.\u00a0\u00a0ATO Approval Number\u00a0 0011\/Scope: Air Traffic Services.\u00a0\u00a0The following is offered as part of the bursary:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Cost of tuition for the ATS Core content Course<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Accommodation, on a sharing basis, at a guest lodge arranged by\u00a0the ATA<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Transport to and from the ATA, as per study and practical\u00a0requirements<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>A monthly allowance<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>10 days of non academic activities as determined by the study\u00a0programme co-ordinators<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After the successful completion of the initial course at the ATA, ATNS may offer the bursar a six months fixed term contract to complete the necessary operational on the job training in either Flight-planning or Aeronautical Communications. In terms of the bursary contract, the successful bursar accepts this contract. During this time, the bursar receives a salary and is no longer eligible for company accommodation, transport etc. Medical aid and pension are not provided as benefits during this contract period. Learners will be working in a shift environment and must ensure that they are on time for their shifts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bursary requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bursars are required to pass all of their modules, courses and examinations in order for the bursary to continue. Should a bursar not successfully complete an examination or assessment, but achieve more than 50%, he\/she may be given the opportunity to rewrite or be re-assessed. Should he\/she still not be successful, the bursary will be terminated.<\/p>\n<p>Should a bursar chose not to undertake the fixed term contract, ATNS may claim the investment made to date by the company. During the fixed term contract the bursar must complete all of the necessary validations required to perform solo duties as an AIM Officer. The learner\u2019s performance is continually monitored during this time and feedback is provided on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n<p>Within one month of the end of the fixed term contract, the line manager will take a decision regarding offering the learner permanent employment as an AIM Officer with ATNS. The offer of permanent employment will include an AIM Officer salary and full benefits (including medical aid, pension etc.). On acceptance of the offer, the AIM learner becomes a fully fledged member of the ATNS Aeronautical Information Management team.
