To address this need, we provide fifty students with bursaries annually to study in fields in which there are skills shortages. Top-achieving students from disadvantaged communities are chosen to study in the ICT and engineering sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Since the scheme was started in 1999, more than 1\u00a0000 bursaries have been awarded.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Vodacom Careers:\u00a0Areas of study<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Applicants can apply for a Vodacom Foundation Bursary if they intend to gain a qualification in one of the following fields of study:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Engineering and Operations\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electrical or Electronic Engineering\u00a0 (Light Current only);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Information Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc Computer Science;<\/li>\n<li>BSc Computer Engineering; or<\/li>\n<li>Information Systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who is eligible to apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants need to meet the following requirements to apply for a Vodacom Foundation Bursary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The applicant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>must be a South African citizen<\/li>\n<li>must undertake full-time undergraduate studies in a South African tertiary institution<\/li>\n<li>be a member of a family who\u2019s total household income does not exceed R150 000 per year<\/li>\n<li>must pass Grade 12 with exemption<\/li>\n<li>must obtain a minimum \u201cC\u201d symbol in both Mathematics and Science Higher Grade<\/li>\n<li>must be younger than 25 years<\/li>\n<li>may apply if already in his\/her first year of studies in an accredited South African tertiary institution and meet all criteria above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>How to Apply for Vodacom \u00a0Bursaries<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vodacom.co.za\/cs\/groups\/public\/documents\/vodacom.co.za_portal_webassets\/bursaryform.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Download Vodacom Bursary Application Form<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing Date:<\/strong>\u00a030 June 2013<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vodacom SA Bursary For 2014 Vodacom is committed to addressing the ICT skills shortage in South Africa.
