If you are keen to enter into the exciting world of finance \u2013 then apply for a bursary at Absa.<\/p>\n<p>Our objective is to address critical skill needs within the financial services industry by affording dynamic, top-performing, full-time students the opportunity to complete their studies and potentially pursue a career at Absa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Over the last 5 years the bursary programme has been sponsoring between 50 and<br \/>\n80 students annually and it supports full-time students studying towards one of the qualifications mentioned below.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Does The Bursary Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bursary includes full tuition fees and will be paid out according to the annual bursary award and the individual\u2019s needs. You will be assessed every year and if your performance is satisfactory, Absa will continue to sponsor you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifying Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This bursary programme helps Absa employ top talent and it also offers financial support to fulltime students studying towards one of the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<p><b>Bachelor or postgraduate degree in:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accounting (towards CA(SA) or CIMA or ACCA)<\/li>\n<li>Actuarial Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Mathematical Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Informatics<\/li>\n<li>Statistics<\/li>\n<li>Engineering (Industrial OR Financial OR Process)<\/li>\n<li>Risk or Investment management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Agricultural Sciences majoring in one of the following:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Animal science with Agricultural Economics<\/li>\n<li>Soil science with Agricultural Economics<\/li>\n<li>Horticulture with Agricultural Economics<\/li>\n<li>Viticulture with Agricultural Economics<\/li>\n<li>Agronomy with Agricultural Economics<\/li>\n<li>Plant production with Agricultural Economics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifying criteria for Postgraduate and undergraduate university students:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be studying full-time for the 2013 academic year at an accredited South African university towards one of the qualifications listed above<\/li>\n<li>Undergraduate or postgraduate students must have achieved a minimum average of 70% in the first semester of their degree studies for the 2013 academic year<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must not have a criminal record<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifying criteria for 2013 matriculants:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must have achieved a minimum average of 80% for the June 2013 examinations<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must be studying full-time for the 2014 academic year at an accredited South African university<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must not have a criminal record<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bursary Agreement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>You may apply for a bursary if:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have not received any other bursary or assistance<\/li>\n<li>You are pursuing a course of study in a discipline that will benefit the Banking Industry<\/li>\n<li>You are registered at a recognised Tertiary Education Institution in South Africa<\/li>\n<li>You are a Pan African citizen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The following are some of the terms and conditions of the bursary:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful applicants who meet the requirements are awarded a conditional bursary pending their final year result<\/li>\n<li>Each successful student will have to sign a formal contract with Absa in order to secure funding. Awarded bursaries will be re-evaluated each year based on academic performance<\/li>\n<li>Successful applicants will be bound contractually to work for Absa after graduation for a period equal to the tenure of the bursary. Placements will be made according to the needs of the business]<\/li>\n<li>Students are expected to complete their qualification within the disciplines as agreed with Absa<\/li>\n<li>Students may be requested to participate in relevant project and skills training<\/li>\n<li>Absa will only fund one qualification at a time<\/li>\n<li>A selection of students will be made in line with our Employment Equity strategy<\/li>\n<li>Short-listed candidates will be required to submit their final results for the current academic year by 15 January 2014<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>How to Apply for ABSA Bursary<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/barclayscandidate.gradweb.uk.com\/absa\/CandidateLogin.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Click on the link<\/a>\u00a0and after registeration,\u00a0ensure that you click on \u201cbursaries\u201d in the drop down menu.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications will close 15 August 2013 .
