Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Purpose:
\nDevelop, manage and co-ordinate the operations and technology activities for Citibank N.A. under the direct supervision of the General Manager (GM) for South Africa and the Divisional Operations and Technology Head, Africa based in South Africa.
\nRecommend and implement operation strategy, short term plans and objectives in line with the overall business plan developed by the GM and the EMEA Operations and Technology chain<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n

Develop and manage short-range operations strategies and assist in developing and managing long-range operations business strategies.
\nManage and achieve processing, systems, customer service and related objectives for South Africa branch, in line with business policies to meet the needs of the business and customers.
\nOperations and technology financial planning and financial control.
\nManage human, processing and systems resources to maximize quality and quantity of service while reducing cost.
\nManage the short and long term career and development of all operations and technology staff including CTI, ICGTech, CSS, CRS, CSIS.
\nEstablish, maintain and enhance communications with the appropriate line areas. Act as the operations customer link to facilitate the flow of information, to develop the necessary support systems, and to insure the achievement of business objectives.
\nManage the development of key systems and related staffing plans to evolve a technologically advanced organization.
\nRecommend operations process to support new business initiatives and co-ordinate the implementation with compliance and technology.
\nEnsure enhancement and maintenance of internal controls to reduce\/control risks and to improve operations standards in Citibank N.A. South Africa.
\nMake quality service delivery an integral part of operating culture in the bank.
\nPlan and manage bank premises to provide conductive work environment for staff and service environment for our customers.
\nDevelopment Value: South Africa business is complex from a product and service point of view, and is a highly competitive market. Key development values are:
\nPeople management – complex organisation, direct and matrix management
\nProduct and process knowledge – South Africa is providing full corporate service, including Corporate Finance, Equity, GTS products, FICC products. (Commercial Cards and SFS are planned for launching)
\nService management – South Africa is the Africa HUB, providing services for 13 countries regarding to Operations Control, Project management, Treasury Operations, as well as using service providers for Cash and Trade processing, applications support, TI support, Commercial card process etc<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n

Knowledge\/Experience: Minimum of 10 years cognate experience in operations management covering<\/p>\n

Competencies<\/p>\n

Prior experience of managing O&T in different countries and continents.
\nManaging operations in a fraud prone environment.
\nManaging people with relatively low skill and having to upgrade these skills to provide strong and experienced operations base.
\nCareer and development management of 90 + staff
\nReviewing and managing processes to gain efficiency and productivity.
\nContinue to enhance and maintain good controls aimed at reducing operating risks.
\nEnsure proper system, product and process implementation, identify and specify new solutions, coordinate the development, test and implementation.<\/p>\n
