Controller Vacancies"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Financial Controller Job Vacancies<\/h2>\n<p>BSG (Africa) has an opportunity for a Financial Controller within the Cape Town Finance Department<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Main Purpose of the Role:<\/h4>\n<p>The Financial Controller will play a key role to support and manage the business risk and drive financial performance through cost control and project profitability<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Qualifications:\u00a0<b> <\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Matric (good maths and\/or accounting results)<\/li>\n<li>BCom Degree\/CA(SA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Job Objectives:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Team Management:\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for goal setting and performance management of finance team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Financial Controls:\n<ul>\n<li>Review of payroll, month end payments, balance sheet reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Ensure financial controls adequately adhered to<\/li>\n<li>Implement controls to manage financial risk within the business<\/li>\n<li>Review of annual insurance cover and provision of information<\/li>\n<li>Implementation of financial improvements and control using project methodology (Prince 2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Management Reporting:\n<ul>\n<li>Review of Annual Financial Statements &amp; Management accounts for all subsidiary entities<\/li>\n<li>Management account compiliation, variance and metric analysis and commentary<\/li>\n<li>Assistance with board reporting and quarterly business reporting<\/li>\n<li>Assistance with review of BSG (Africa) Annual Financial Statements<\/li>\n<li>Assist with calculation of balance scorecard and risk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Budgeting:\n<ul>\n<li>Budgetary reporting design &amp; improvement<\/li>\n<li>Arranging calculation of metrics to assist with budgeting<\/li>\n<li>Completing budgeting and revised budgeting templates for divisions completion<\/li>\n<li>Project managing annual budget preparation and revised budget preparation<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing divisional budget and revised budget submissions<\/li>\n<li>Monthly long term cash flow<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Statutory Requirements and Taxation:\n<ul>\n<li>Staff loan, bonus provision and leave provision calculations and reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Providing technical accounting theory<\/li>\n<li>Complete provisional tax and annual tax information and complete returns on E-Filing<\/li>\n<li>Complete efiling for PAYE, VAT<\/li>\n<li>Review VAT reconciliation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Remuneration and Bonusing Process:\n<ul>\n<li>Collation of feedback and reporting of ratings to divisional heads and calculation of final bonus<\/li>\n<li>Completion of salary information for the remuneration committee<\/li>\n<li>Completion of salary metrics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Experience:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>BCom with 5-6 years relevant experience or<\/li>\n<li>A newly qualified CA (SA) with 1-2 years commerce experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Knowledge:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<b> <\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>IT &amp; consulting knowledge (preferable but not necessary)<\/li>\n<li>Pastel Accounting Package (not critical)<\/li>\n<li>Projects Billing Approach<\/li>\n<li>Grasp for management accounts and budget principles<\/li>\n<li>Sound knowledge of GAAP<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the VAT Act and Income Tax Act, PAYE.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the Companies Act.<\/li>\n<li>Financial reporting<\/li>\n<li>Investment opportunities (not critical)<\/li>\n<li>Company secretarial work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Skills and Abilities:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Use of Microsft Office<\/li>\n<li>Excellent use of Excel<\/li>\n<li>General management<\/li>\n<li>Negotiation skills<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Business writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Presentation skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Key Performance Areas:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Creditor management as outlined by the business<\/li>\n<li>Fixed asset management as outlined by the business<\/li>\n<li>Cash management<\/li>\n<li>Monthly reporting\u00a0 &amp; reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Stakeholder management within Insurance and Banking as well as internal
