\nqualification in Information Technology or related qualification specialised in Web
\nand information management Knowledge of and experience in the following
\nprogramming languages: HTML\/XML, JavaScript, ASP, PHP, My SQL\/MSQL
\nand Visual Basic 6 Knowledge of and experience in the following software
\npackages: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash; Adobe
\nAcrobat\/Photo Shop, scanning software. Knowledge of and experience in
\nContent Management Systems (CMS) (Microsoft SharePoint and Open Source
\nSolutions). Successful applicant will be expected to work after hours and during
\nweekends. Competencies: Sound management and leadership skills Sound
\ninformation management skills, i.e. the ability to handle and understand mass
\ninformation and select important data from masses of information Knowledge and
\nunderstanding of the web as conduit for information and communication,
\ndissemination and marketing Sound knowledge and understanding of
\ninternational politics and foreign relations A good level of language proficiency
\nand proven skills with regard to the editing and proofreading of documents.
\nAbility to work independently and as a member of a team Client
\norientation\/customer focus Planning and organising skills Analytical skills
\nProblem-solving skills.<\/p>\n
\n(Intranet, Extranet and Mission Websites) and other websites of strategic
\nimportance to the Department Manage the Sub-directorate: Web and Information
\nManagement Work with Business Units and Missions in the Department and
\nother Government departments on the generation of new content and continued
\nupdating of current content Identify opportunities for using the Web Portal as a
\nmarketing and internal communication tool Monitor national and international
\ninformation and media sources for the purpose of updating the Web Portal Build
\ngood working relations with web developers and Information Technology
\nspecialists within and outside of Government Remain abreast of developments
\nand trends in respect of the Internet and electronic information management
\nHandle personal, telephonic and e-mail enquiries.<\/p>\n
\nsalary, the State\u2019s contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund and
\na flexible portion that may be structured in terms of the applicable rules. The
\nsuccessful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract.<\/p>\n
