The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa (MDF) is a nonprofit organisation that supports people affected by muscular dystrophy and neuromuscular disorders.<\/p>\n
MDF – Gauteng Branch seeks to appoint a Programme Coordinator, based in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n
Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa National Office based in Johannesburg seeks to appoint a Programme Coordinator. The applicant must have a keen interest and a proven track record experience in the development of funds, partnership\u00a0and networking\u00a0as well as the coordination and management of disability, awareness and\u00a0health\u00a0programmes. He\/ She must have a passion for the support, development and wellbeing of people with disabilities. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:
\nBusiness Development and Sustainability Programmes<\/p>\n
To prospect\u00a0for new business, new donors, and drive income from new partnerships;
\nDevelop a rapport with new clients and set targets for funding while developing a support\u00a0structure\u00a0that will continually improve funding relationships;
\nGrow and retain existing accounts;
\nDrive the funding of specific projects \/ programmes or specific objectives;
\nDrive funding through service delivery while overseeing the creation and implementation for fund development, i.e. grants, trusts, project proposals.<\/p>\n

\nAssist the foundation in developing relationships with external programme specific stakeholders;
\nFormulate effective disability, muscular dystrophy awareness and\u00a0healthprogrammes, making sure that both solicited and unsolicited programmes are catered for;
\nCarry out needs assessment ensuring branches receive information, as well monitoring and evaluation;
\nRepresent the organisation in meetings and seminars related to programme creation and fund development;
\nManage the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation awareness calendar;
\nIdentify Muscular Dystrophy needs and trends in South Africa;
\nCoordination and development of media partners through the director\u2019s office;
\nProvide area related expertise and leadership;
\nFacilitate programme related training and development initiatives as well as focus groups and forums;
\nCollect, collate and manage information and maintaining resources;
\nAssist in the marketing of the MDF magazine though service delivery;
\nManage advocacy, campaigns, awareness;
\nProgramme \/ fund development strategic planning for each year;
\nOversee the member base.<\/p>\n
\nRelevant degree in social sciences, additional\u00a0marketing and PR\u00a0qualification or experience would be an added advantage;
\nMinimum of three years experience in programme development and proven track record in fund development;
\nMinimum of two years experience in the nonprofit sector;
\nValid driver\u2019s licence and own car essential;
\nComputer literacy and must be able to travel;
\nOrganisational skills with knowledge and understanding of disability and\u00a0healthprogrammes and its\u00a0structures;
\nAbility to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format;
\nAbility to train other people and conduct public speaking;
\nTeam player who is able to\u00a0build\u00a0relationships.<\/p>\n
