Sasol South Africa recruits Construction Safety Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Position Summary
\nThis advert is to recruit for 2 Construction Safety officers<\/p>\n

To facilitate the creation of a world standard construction safety within the Sasol Technology Business, by providing an effective and highly respected consulting and advisory service on projects<\/p>\n

\u2022\tConduct Construction Management System and Legal Compliance Audits
\n\u2022\tPromote SH&E Practices amongst Project Management and Service Providers
\n\u2022\tDevelop, implement, review and updating systems to control project SHE plans
\n\u2022\tFacilitate construction safety risk assessment, PDA on construction sites
\n\u2022\tCoordinate transfer of responsibility documents for construction work
\n\u2022\tConsultation with Sasol Business Units \/ Project Management \/ Service Providers with regards to construction safety aspects on projects
\n\u2022\tEnsure Project Management and Service Providers compliance to legal and Sasol requirements
\n\u2022\tSafety inputs during contractual phase
\n\u2022\tContractors SH&E plan review and approval
\n\u2022\tGenerate pro-active plans \/ actions to reduce incidents or construction delays
\n\u2022\tCompiling of safety statistics \/ month reports \/ review reports
\n\u2022\tIdentify safety training needs and development
\n\u2022\tCapture construction progress and update of data base and statistics
\n\u2022\tSafety inputs during HAZOP and Risk meetings
\n\u2022\t Coordinate the Construction safety end of job documentation<\/p>\n

Job Requirements
\nQualifications and expertise required (Must)
\n\u2022\tGrade 12 \/ Std 10
\n\u2022\tSAMTRAC
\n\u2022\tNadsam (wish)
\n\u2022\t B.Tech Safety Management (wish)
\n\u2022\t Construction safety will be to your advantage
\n\u2022\t Knowledge and the application of SH&E Legislation (OHS Act, COID act, Construction Regulations, etc)
\n\u2022\tKnowledge of Risk Based Approach to SH&E Construction during the project execution phase
\n\u2022\tKnowledge application of Service Providers assessment techniques<\/p>\n

General<\/p>\n

\u2022\tDemonstrate technical \/ functional expertise
\n\u2022\tKnowledge of global Safety and Health best practices
\n\u2022\tKnowledge of the Service Providers SH&E best practices
\n\u2022\tKnowledge of SH&E best practices for Sasol on construction sites
\n\u2022\tIncident investigations and problem solving
\n\u2022\tIdentify safety control requirements and make recommendations to management
\n\u2022\tProject Management construction safety
\n\u2022\tModify existing methods or systems to improve the way work gets done<\/p>\n

Specific experience required
\n\u2022\t\u00b1 3 \u2013 5 years experience in the SH&E field. (Chemical \/ Construction)
\n\u2022\tSound Knowledge of SH&E management systems, OHSAS 18001, construction safety, ISO, EMS, and systems integration
\n\u2022\tSound Knowledge OHS Act and Construction regulations<\/p>\n
