The Municipal infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) in conjunction with Municipalities offers unemployed graduates (between ages: 16 to 35) three years apprenticeship in the local government sector. MlSA is an agency of government accountable to the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) established to serve as a single window of coordination for the development of Technical capacity in local government.<\/p>\n

The rationale for the establishment of MISA is to support accelerated municipal infrastructure development to eradicate service and rehabilitation backlogs related to the provision of basic services as well as develop the capacity of municipalities to sustainably deliver and manage infrastructure. MISA strives for excellence in the context of service delivery and skills development and encourages historically disadvantaged individuals to apply.<\/p>\n

The MISA Apprentices Development Programme is a structured program focused on recruiting young graduates from various FET Colleges through structured programme in order to increase their workplace exposure. The aim programme is aimed at capacitating inexperienced graduates.<\/p>\n

Successful candidates will enter into a three-year apprenticeship contract with the Municipal infrastructure Support Agent and be deployed to municipal Technical departments for local government service delivery. MISA offers 3 years apprenticeship opportunity with municipalities for the following trades:-<\/p>\n
