\nGrade 2 : 5 years\u2019 experience after registration with the South African Pharmacy
\nCouncil as a post basic pharmacy assistant
\nGrade 3: 13 years\u2019 experience after registration with the South African Pharmacy
\nCouncil as a post basic pharmacy assistant N.B: Certificates of service must be
\nattached as proof of experience.
\nRecommendation: Computer literacy. Knowledge, Skills, Training And
\nCompetencies: Possess good communication, numeracy and interpersonal skills
\nGood knowledge of Departmental policies and protocols Computer literacy Be able
\nto work under pressure without compromising quality of care Principles of stock
\nmanagement Able to carry boxes (Orders may involve more than 100 boxes)<\/p>\n
\nprofessional standards and according to scheduled duties. Assist with the
\nrequisition\/ procurement, receipt, storage, distribution and dispensing of
\npharmaceuticals, up to \/ and including schedule 5, and non-pharmaceutical
\nproducts, under the supervision of a Pharmacist Manufacturing, repacking, and
\nlabeling of pharmaceuticals up to and including schedule 5 in accordance with
\nStandard Operating Procedures under the supervision of a pharmacist. Assist in pre
\ndispensing and co-ordination of clinic schedule to ensure continuous and timely
\nsupply of medication to local clinics. Assist with dispensing and pre-dispensing of
\nARV medication under pharmacist supervision Assist with compounding of nonsterile
\nor scheduled medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist according to
\nGood Pharmacy Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice Translate and interpret
\ninformation for patients to ensure the correct use of medicines supplied Provide
\nbasic primary health education to the public and colleagues Participate in
\nDepartmental continuing education, in-service programmes, and quality
\nimprovement initiatives Provide support in stock management: Labeling stock, stock
\nrotation, expiry checks, ward stock management, stock takes and maintain stock
\nlevels in the Pharmacy. Exercise strict control measures and security of
\npharmaceuticals Assist with supervision of general orderlies Collect and maintain
\nrecords and statistics Maintain good housekeeping in accordance with GPP and
