\nREQUIREMENTS : An appropriate 3 year Degree\/ Diploma in Law\/ International Relations and Public
\nAdministration or an NQF level 6 qualification in the related field plus1 years\u2019
\nexperience in Refugee matters and\/or a Grade 12 Certificate with 3 years\u2019
\nexperience in Refugee matters \u2022 Knowledge and understanding of the Immigration
\nAct, Refugee Act, International Conventions and Protocols relating to status of
\nrefugees and South African Constitution. Good verbal and written communication
\nskills \u2022 Computer literacy \u2022 A valid driver\u2019s license and willingness to travel.<\/p>\n
DUTIES:<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be responsible for, amongst others, the following
\nspecific tasks: Adjudicating of asylum seekers applications \u2022 Liaise with Standing
\nCommittee for Refugee Appeal Board (SCRA) and Refugee Appeal Board (RAB) \u2022
\nRecord Daily Statistics \u2022 Ensure proper application of legal frameworks when
\nadjudicating asylum Cases \u2022 Compilation of detailed report for asylum Seekers and
\nconducting research\u2022 Issue and review refugee status \u2022 Prepare quality submissions
\nto the Standing Committee for Refugee Affairs (SCRA) on cases where status was
\nissued erroneously, fraudulently and were country conditions have improved and
\ncircumstances for initially granting status seized to exist \u2022 Preparation of files for
\npresentation to (SCRA) for manifestly unfounded decisions \u2022 Liaison with the Chief
\nDirectorate: Asylum Seeker Management and the United Nation High Commissioner
\nfor Refugees regarding country information \u2022 Providing evidence as well as testifying
\non behalf of the State \u2022 Providing evidence as well as testifying on behalf of the
