{"id":14379,"date":"2013-09-16T11:50:33","date_gmt":"2013-09-16T09:50:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=14379"},"modified":"2013-09-19T09:54:01","modified_gmt":"2013-09-19T07:54:01","slug":"industrial-development-corporation-quantity-surveyor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/industrial-development-corporation-quantity-surveyor.html","title":{"rendered":"Industrial Development Corporation: Quantity Surveyor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A permanent position exists within the Evaluations Department for the Quantity Surveyor at the IDC Head office Sandton, reporting to the Head: Evaluations<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>JOB PURPOSE<\/p>\n<p>To provide an independent view of construction related matters, including cost, contract, project management, and technical completion risks, and to monitor draw-down of approved funding against construction progress.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Roles &amp; Responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advice and assist the IDC in matters relating to construction cost parameters and contract documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Verify the information provided in elemental estimates.<\/li>\n<li>Review and comment on capital cost expenditure in line with the industry norms.<\/li>\n<li>Validate and compile project budgets in line with identified scope.<\/li>\n<li>Examine and critique relevant documentation including project brief, design parameters and technical documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Assess the proficiency of the professional teams to meet their metrics of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that clients\u2019 construction project related processes and procedures are in-line with industry best practice.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate the risks inherent in the clients\u2019 construction projects, determine the extent to which these risks are mitigated, and advise or act accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Support project teams executing CSI and other IDC initiated construction projects, and provide watching brief services on internal construction projects.<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile drawdown requests against construction progress and planned project phases, identify cost variances, and make drawdown recommendations accordingly.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the relevant internal stakeholders to facilitate effective knowledge transfer relating to QS services within the IDC, and ensure accurate and timeous reporting to internal stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB COMPETENCES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced analytical Skills<\/li>\n<li>Planning and Organizing ability<\/li>\n<li>Strong relationship skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively under time pressure<\/li>\n<li>Ability to analyses complex information from a wide range of sources, consider options and propose\/implement solutions\/recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Problem solving<\/li>\n<li>Negotiating and influencing skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE<\/p>\n<p>Five years\u2019 postgraduate experience in building\/construction and engineering projects, particularly within the leisure, manufacturing, and healthcare industries<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc or B Tech Degree Quantity Surveying<\/li>\n<li>Registration with the Council of South African Quantity Surveying Profession (Pr QS qualification)<\/li>\n<li>Project Management qualification would be added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/idc.hua.hrsmart.com\/hr\/ats\/Posting\/view\/301\">Click on this link to Apply online<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A permanent position exists within the Evaluations Department for the Quantity Surveyor at the IDC Head office Sandton, reporting to the Head: Evaluations &nbsp; JOB PURPOSE To provide an independent&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[43],"tags":[1899],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.5 -
