If you are a recent graduate, a South African citizen under 30, have initiative and curiosity, excellent English Language writing skills and a strong commitment to a career in journalism with Times Mdia we\u2019d like to meet you.<\/p>\n
If you are successful in your application you will have an opportunity to get practical journalism skills and to receive training in Courts and Law and Local and Provincial Government reporting.<\/p>\n
This internship runs from 3 February \u2013 31 December 2014. A monthly stipend will be paid to successful candidates.<\/p>\n
If you are accepted onto the programme your training will consist of formal and informal training sessions, hands-on practical sessions and coaching as well as experiential training periods with various news operations in the company.<\/p>\n
While the initial training will take place in Johannesburg you may be posted to other centres during your internship.<\/p>\n
You will be required to build a portfolio of the work you do.<\/p>\n
We cannot guarantee a job after your training contract but if you have demonstrated commitment and journalistic skill you will be prioritised for junior journalist positions that may become available in the company.<\/p>\n
Preference will be given to candidates who will add to the diversity of the company.<\/p>\n
