\nto accomplish the effective, safe and reliable lifting and rigging of heavy loads and maintain and inspect all rigging equipment,
\nwinder ropes and overhead cranes in the area of responsibility.<\/p>\n
\n\uf0b7 Verify tasks and plan equipment requirements to facilitate efficient and effective job completion to lift loads and rig into position
\n\uf0b7 Perform equipment\/machine over-inspections and diagnose\/identify problems
\n\uf0b7 Maintenance and control of overhead and mobile crane ropes as and when required
\n\uf0b7 Manage spares requirements of rigging equipment to ensure availability
\n\uf0b7 Assist the engineering teams when setting up project plans
\n\uf0b7 Perform rigging on major jobs
\n\uf0b7 Comply with legal and mine safety standards and procedures
\n\uf0b7 Work according to the Mine Health and Safety Act
\n\uf0b7 Conduct regular safety inspections and initiate corrective action if necessary
\n\uf0b7 Prioritise and supervise the tasks of subordinates in the area of responsibility
\n\uf0b7 Assist with recovering of broken down or redundant mining machinery and equipment from the mine face
\n\uf0b7 Work overtime and standby when required<\/p>\n
\n\uf0b7 Grade 12\/N3
\n\uf0b7 Recognised Apprenticeship and Rigger Trade Certificate
\n\uf0b7 3 years post apprenticeship experience in a Shaft environment
\n\uf0b7 Code 14 driver\u2019s license
\n\uf0b7 Mechanical knowledge of overhead cranes<\/p>\n
\n\uf0b7 Good verbal and written communication skills in English
\n\uf0b7 Able to work at elevated heights
\n\uf0b7 Ability to work in a team
\n\uf0b7 Independent, proactive thinker and have the ability to do own job planning
\n\uf0b7 Basic computer literacy will be advantageous
\n\uf0b7 Crane driving skills will be advantageous<\/p>\n
