{"id":15391,"date":"2013-10-16T02:20:16","date_gmt":"2013-10-16T00:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=15391"},"modified":"2013-10-16T02:20:16","modified_gmt":"2013-10-16T00:20:16","slug":"sabc-henley-television-facilities-technicians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/sabc-henley-television-facilities-technicians.html","title":{"rendered":"SABC: Henley Television Facilities Technicians x 2 Vacancies"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>South African Broadcasting Corporation Vacancies<\/h2>\n<p><b>DIVISION: TECHNOLOGY<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>BUSINESS UNIT: HENLEY TELEVISION FACILITIES<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>POSITION:\u00a0 <\/b><b>TECHNICIAN x 2<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>REPORT LINE: MANAGER TECHNOLOGY: POST PRODUCTION<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>SCALE CODE: 405<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<h4>MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION<\/h4>\n<p>Technical support, installations, design, repair and maintenance of technical equipment and systems, in order to ensure facilities and equipment are in perfect operational order 24 hours a day for broadcast.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan, control and the efficient maintenance of all technical equipment and facilities, in order to provide optimal correct functionality, whilst ensuring adherence to manufacturing specifications<\/li>\n<li>Efficient and effective repair of faulty equipment, ensuring smallest possible turnaround time and minimal disruption for broadcast<\/li>\n<li>Continual upgrading of facilities and equipment at Post Production Facilities, in order to ensure operational delivery on client needs and requirements<\/li>\n<li>Prompt response to fault call-outs, assessment of the situation and alternatives (bypass of equipment etc.), in order to provide a solution that will ensure 24 hour broadcast ability<\/li>\n<li>Continual monitoring and evaluation of Post Production facilities, in order to assess if facilities are correctly equipped to provide a professional broadcast environment<\/li>\n<li>Maintain close working relationships with internal and external clients, in order to ensure optimal delivery on client needs and requirements<\/li>\n<li>Informal guidance and support to clients, in order to familiarise clients with the capabilities and utilisation of equipment<\/li>\n<li>The workflow design and installation of all technical equipment in the facilities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and optimal delivery on client\u2019s needs and requirements, within specified budget<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with internal and external service providers and vendors, in order to ensure optimal delivery on SABC needs and requirements<\/li>\n<li>Continually monitor and assess the external environment, new equipment, technologies and technology trends, in order to enhance the efficiencies and effectiveness of technology operations<\/li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to safety and health regulations<\/li>\n<li>Sound administration, ensuring accurate registering of faults, time, costs and solutions<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the Asset management and control of technical equipment in the facilities<\/li>\n<li>Update technical documentation and plans for future reference<\/li>\n<li>On-the-job, informal training of team members, in order to ensure a competent staff compliment and exchange and sharing of knowledge and expertise.<\/li>\n<li>Doing shifts\/after-hours technical support and assistance to the facilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current)<\/li>\n<li>1-Year experience in technical maintenance in Post Production related equipment e.g. NLE(AVID &amp; FCP), AFM(ProTools), VT-TRF &amp; GRAPHICS<\/li>\n<li>A+ Computer Qualification (Advantageous)<\/li>\n<li>N+ Computer Qualification\/Network Essentials (Advantageous)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to accurately assess situations and select the most appropriate action<\/li>\n<li>Ability to \u201cthink on your feet\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle pressure<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of Post Production Avid Workgroup Network and File-Based Workflows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>SKILLS &amp;
