To provide support service for the effective management of water resources associated with the dam and to meet all abstraction demands, both from the waterworks and to meet legal requirements, including all clerical and administration for the site.
\nKey Responsibilities Water resource and abstraction monitoring * Assist with operational activities in accordance with dam operating and maintenance procedures including dam safety requirements * Effective control of the safety, health environment and quality of the workforce and workplace * Efficient and effective administration systems with limited errors * Efficient management of the budget procedures * Productive management of individual and team performance.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualification, <\/strong><\/p>\n Knowlege & Skills Minimum Qualifications: Matric plus N4 Water \/ Waste Water qualification or an equivalent qualification* 2 Years operational or relevant operations experience within a similar environment * Basic Safety Training Certificate * Able to communicate in English and Zulu (verbal and written) * Unendorsed Code 08 \/ EB drivers licence * Computer literacy (MS Office Suit inclusive of MS Project, Intranet and Internet and Internet)<\/p>\n Knowledge and skills: <\/strong><\/p>\n We are looking for an individual who has a working knowledge of mechanical, pipeline, electrical and electronic plant and equipment * Basic maintenance (mechanical, electrical and buildings, etc) * Comprehensive knowledge of Dam Operating and Maintenance Manual and checklist * Background knowledge of Intergrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) principles and practices * Knowledge of some aspects of LRA, Basic Conditions Of Service Act, OHASA, NOSA Programme, National Water Act and Environmental Protection * Knowledge of dam related equipment (specialist valves, lifting equipment, diesel engines, generators) * Ability to listen and to communicate with customers, DWAF officials, contractors, local organisations and rural communities * Ability to promote teamwork * Ability to utilise the skills and abilities of others (internal and external) to solve problems and achieve objectives * Ability to handle conflict situations in a logical and calm manner * Ability to work without supervision, initiate matters without having to be prompted or urged on * Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams * Detail oriented, in order to ensure strict adherence to procedures and checklist * Must have analytical as well as planning and organising skills.<\/p>\n Please Note Application without a covering letter quoting a reference number, CV and a certified copies of qualifications will not be considered.
