{"id":15590,"date":"2013-11-06T07:54:36","date_gmt":"2013-11-06T05:54:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/?p=15590"},"modified":"2016-11-18T14:45:49","modified_gmt":"2016-11-18T12:45:49","slug":"misa-artisans-development-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistsouthafrica.com\/misa-artisans-development-programme.html","title":{"rendered":"MISA: Artisans Development Programme 2014 [56 Vacancies]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) in conjunction with the Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) hereby offers unemployed FET graduates (between the ages of 16 \u2013 35), three years apprenticeship in the local government sector.<\/p>\n<p>MISA is a component of the Department of Cooperative Governance (DCoG) established in terms of Section 7(2) Schedule 3 of the Public Service Act of 1994 (as amended), established to build technical capacity of municipalities to undertake efficient planning, delivery, operations and management of municipal infrastructure, amongst other functions.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst the programme is not exclusively limited to individuals from previously disadvantaged communities, MISA strives for excellence in the context of service delivery and skills development and encourages historically disadvantaged individuals to apply. The programme targets unemployed graduates for Artisanship in line with the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS III).<\/p>\n<p>The MISA Artisans Development Programme is a structured 3\u2013year artisanship programme focused on recruiting and training young graduates from various FET Colleges for trade testing as Artisans for subsequent employment in local government to support the institutional capacity of host municipalities.<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidates will enter into a three-year apprenticeship contract with the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent and be deployed to municipal Technical departments. Opportunities are available in the following trades:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electrical<\/li>\n<li>Plumbing<\/li>\n<li>Fitting and Turning<\/li>\n<li>Diesel Mechanics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eligibility: FET College graduates meeting the minimum academic requirements in the form of:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>N4 Certificate (with relevant N2 trade subjects)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants must be willing and available to undergo 3 years structured training, deployment and rotation to municipalities and FET Colleges leading towards qualification as artisans. Applicants must be South African citizens and residing within the below-mentioned municipalities.
