In terms of the dti\u2019s EE requirements, preference will be given to Asian and White male candidates and people with disabilities.
\nOverview The Officer of the Director-General Division within the dti has as vacant position for a State Accountant which is now open\u00a0for applications.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n Calculate and capture salary claims (overtime claims, board member claims, ect.) <\/p>\n Requirements <\/strong><\/p>\n National Diploma in Accounting\/B.Com degree with at least Accounting as major subject. <\/p>\n
\nRecovery of all outstanding debts.
\nFollow up on suspense accounts and reporting on outstanding balances.
\nMonthly reporting on operational statistics.
\nProcess payments within the relevant policy provisions and\/or applicable legislations\/s.
\nMaintenance of PERSAL related transactions eg allowance and deductions.
\nPrepare financial statement input on a monthly basis.
\nKnowledge of Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
\nAttend to CA Service Desk logged calls.
\nAdhere to internal control measures to prevent over, under or duplicate payments.
\nProvide training to subordinates and customers on policy provisions.
\nUpdate IRP5\u2019s in terms of applicable Income Tax legislations.<\/p>\n
\n2-3 years relevant experience.
\nIn-depth knowledge and experience of financial systems (BAS and PERSAL).
\nComputer skills (Microsoft Office and Excel)
\nA proactive creative and innovative thinker.
\nKnowledge of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Financial Regulations as well as financial policies will also be an added advantage.
\nSound ability to communicate well, both verbal and written.
\nExcellent administrative, planning and organisational skills.
\nAbility to work independently.
\nA sense of urgency and an ability to work under stress.
\nGood business writing skills.
