Job Description and Responsibilities\u00a0<\/strong> <\/p>\n PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:<\/strong> <\/p>\n Education and Experience <\/strong><\/p>\n REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n \u2022 A Degree \/ Diploma in the following disciplines \u2013 Purchasing, Logistics, Commerce, Finance, Business Management or <\/p>\n Skills, Attributes & Other Requirements <\/strong><\/p>\n VALUED COMPETENCIES<\/p>\n \u2022 A good understanding of MIDP, APDP and NIPP principles
\nA committed purchasing professional with a passion for the motor industry, who is able to plan, source, develop, introduce and maintain local and export parts in order to achieve a commercially competitive advantage for VWSA.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 The identification & development of local and import parts & tooling in order to meet project requirements.
\n\u2022 Establish benchmark pricing and perform value analysis to ensure competitiveness.
\n\u2022 Conduct quotes and sourcing activities via various purchasing systems & prepare and present recommendations for managerial decision making purposes.
\n\u2022 Seek & develop new supply sources, nationally and internationally.
\n\u2022 Negotiate supplier price adjustments.
\n\u2022 Negotiate and maintain commercial contracts with suppliers.
\n\u2022 Perform capacity planning to ensure supplier tooling & facilities can adequately support VW production requirements.
\n\u2022 Incorporate engineering changes or quality improvements into existing components.
\n\u2022 Identify local sources of supply for potential export components to the VW Group.
\n\u2022 Prime project management accountability for ensuring components are approved by Engineering or Quality and introduced into production or exported.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 A technical trade (e.g. Toolmaker) supported by an NTC 6 qualification.
\n\u2022 A minimum of 3 years Purchasing experience in the automotive industry.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Negotiation & Problem solving skills
\n\u2022 Oral and written Communication skills
\n\u2022 Presentation skills
\n\u2022 Above average computer literacy, especially MS Office package
\n\u2022 Financial analysis & Costing ability
\n\u2022 Business management & Project management skills
\n\u2022 Customer interface and Conflict management skills
\n\u2022 Ability to interpret technical data
\n\u2022 Self motivated and driven
\n\u2022 German language proficiency<\/p>\n
