Office Administrator I: Law Reform and Appeals<\/p>\n

Salary: R138 345 (Total package R 211 779 per annum)
\nCentre: Cape Town
\nRequirements:
\n\u2022 A Senior Certificate \/ Grade 12 with relevant experience in Administrative functions
\nin an office environment;
\n\u2022 Exposure to or experience on any document management system (electronic and
\nmanual). A clearly demonstrable ability to compile meeting minutes, basic
\ncorrespondence and other documents independently is a key function of this post.
\nReception experience is also necessary;
\n\u2022 Computer literacy, especially a good command in use of Microsoft Word, Excel,
\nPowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook\/Novell GroupWise;
\n\u2022 A basic understanding of government\u2019s procurement processes and rules including
\neconomic empowerment;
\n\u2022 Applicants should be able to type and format documents (At least in Word, Excel and
\nPowerPoint) and must demonstrate basic numeracy skills;
\n\u2022 The Legal Services unit requires a person who has initiative (\u2018self-starter\u2019), sound
\norganisational and planning skills;
\n\u2022 Exposure to running of meetings will also be considered an advantage. Good
\ntelephone etiquette is an additional essential requirement;
\n\u2022 The ability to work under pressure at times;
\n\u2022 Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
\nDuties:
\n\u2022 The appointed candidate shall perform the following duties for the Directorate: Law
\nReform & Appeals which include: Reception services for the Law Reform & Appeals
\nunit (\u201cthe unit\u201d);
\n\u2022 Manual and electronic filing for the unit; Manage and continuously update the
\nelectronic document management system and electronic register; Do travel
\narrangements for the unit; Procure goods and services for the unit;
\n\u2022 Manage legal resources, reference books etc.;
\n\u2022 Control assets of the unit; Identify budget needs of the unit and manage monthly budget reports and expenditure;
\n\u2022 Document management including photocopying, faxing, binding, preparation of documents for meetings, workshops etc.;
\n\u2022 Organise and set up meetings, conferences and workshops, including dissemination of agendas and coordinating dates and attendance, catering and venue bookings and equipment etc.;
\n\u2022 Take minutes at meetings; Draft administrative documents such as procurement memos;
\n\u2022 Manage the diary and filing of the Director; Prepare and process S&T, cell phone etc.
