The EMR (Equipment Maintenance & Repairs) Team is a division of the South Africa Cluster Operations Team centrally based in Cape Town. The position offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic 00000team, in a highly pressurized environment responding rapidly to changing business priorities. \nA vacancy exists within the Operations Department of Maersk Line South Africa, based in Cape Town. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for damage cost recovery against recoverable EMR spend in South Africa.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022Closing of handling and old damage cases
\n\u2022Determining liability of 3rd party damage cases
\n\u2022Sending notice letters, follow-up & invoices<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Invoice quality (resulting in payment of a claim)
\n\u2022Quality of cases from container depot suppliers<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Assisting with reporting of bug fixing
\n\u2022System Performances and reporting
\n\u2022System developments and enhancements<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Damage cases reporting within 24 hrs.
\n\u2022EIR (Equipment Interchange Receipts) made out correctly
\n\u2022Damage photograph quality<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Damage estimates for Port Damages
\n\u2022Centrally drive performance of recoveries for local operations execution and recovery<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Process excellence related projects from time to time.
\n\u2022Container Depot Gate Processes and performance measures
\n\u2022Data quality of gate information
\n\u2022Timeliness of Case creation from gate-in event
\n\u2022Establish what works and doesn\u2019t work and implement corrective measures
\n\u2022Necessary travel from time to time<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Ensuring container depot compliance to Maersk Line Agreed SLA
\n(Service Level Agreement)
\n\u2022Technical auditing of Gate processes and following related processes in container depots
\n\u2022Build relationships and truly \u201cspar\u201d with container depot suppliers
\n\u2022Training and development with container depot suppliers to ensure that SOP\u2019s are understood and resources are in place to achieve KPI\u2019s, elevate issues as needed.
\n\u2022Best practise sharing and implementation to enhance efficiencies and recoveries, log to be kept.
\n\u2022Revisiting up-dating of SLA\u2019s and SOP\u2019s as needed in line with Business changes.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Monthly reviews of performance against targets
\n\u2022Reviewing of targets quarterly in line with business\/developmental changes
\n\u2022SAP knowledge and access level to support own and other EMR Team Adhoc functions<\/p>\n
\nThe ideal candidate:
\n\u2022Computer Literate \u2013 excel, SAP, Global Systems, DERT \u2013 (Training will be provided)
\n\u2022Tertiary qualification in either electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline
\n\u2022Knowledge of refrigeration and refrigeration systems would be an advantage
\n\u2022Container surveying\/IICL certification would also be an added advantage
\n\u2022Technical auditing skill.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022Have the ability to break down tasks into process steps; Develop schedules and timelines and anticipate challenges. Measures performance against goals and evaluates results;
\n\u2022Be open to learning from subject matter specialists. Comfortable with being challenged and open to be developed and coached;
\n\u2022Be good at focused listening and can hammer out tough disputes equitably;
\n\u2022Be able to make good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment;
\n\u2022Have the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment;
\n\u2022Have the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; Can get messages across that have the desired effect.<\/p>\n
